Understanding your rights and responsibilities as a patient and patient's family to create a good therapeutic relationship with healthcare professionals

Patients and Families Rights

  • To obtain information regarding the rules and regulations applicable in the Hospital.
  • To obtain information about the rights and obligations of patients.
  • To receive humane, fair, and honest services without discrimination.
  • To obtain quality health services in accordance with professional standards and standard operating procedures.
  • To receive effective and efficient services so that patients are protected from physical and financial losses.
  • To file complaints regarding the quality of services received.
  • To choose a doctor and care class according to their preferences and capabilities, and in accordance with the regulations applicable in the Hospital.
  • To request a consultation regarding their illness from another doctor who holds a Practice License (SIP), either within or outside the Hospital.
  • To obtain privacy and confidentiality regarding their illness, including their medical records.
  • To receive information including diagnosis and medical procedures, the purpose of the medical action, alternative treatments, possible risks and complications, prognosis of the treatment, and estimated medical costs.
  • To give consent or refuse actions to be taken by healthcare professionals regarding their illness.
  • To be accompanied by their family in critical conditions.
  • To practice their religion or beliefs as long as it does not disturb other patients.
  • To obtain security and safety during their hospital care.
  • To submit suggestions, advice, and improvements regarding the hospital's treatment of them.
  • To refuse spiritual guidance services that do not align with their religion or beliefs.
  • To sue and/or take legal action against the Hospital if the Hospital is alleged to have provided services that do not meet standards, either in a civil or criminal manner.
  • To complain about hospital services that do not meet service standards through print and electronic media in accordance with the provisions of applicable laws and regulations.

Patients and Families Responsibilities

  • To comply with the rules and regulations applicable in the Hospital.
  • To use Hospital facilities responsibly.
  • To respect the rights of other patients, visitors, and the rights of Healthcare Professionals and other staff working in the Hospital.
  • To provide honest, complete, and accurate information to the best of their ability and knowledge regarding their health issues.
  • To provide information regarding their financial capabilities and health insurance coverage.
  • To comply with the therapy plan recommended by Healthcare Professionals in the Hospital and agreed upon by the patient after receiving explanations in accordance with the provisions of applicable laws and regulations.
  • To accept all consequences of their personal decision to refuse the therapy plan recommended by Healthcare Professionals and/or not to comply with the instructions given by Healthcare Professionals in the course of treating their illness or health issues.
  • To provide compensation for the services received.

Patient rights and responsibilities are regulated based on the Regulations of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. If you feel your rights are not being met, please contact our patient complaint unit.
